Grace is God’s unmerited favor, love, and initiative toward humanity. Before a person seeks God, God reaches out first. Being “called by grace” means that salvation, forgiveness, and acceptance into God’s family aren’t earned through good deeds, religious effort, or personal merit they are freely given through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
